"Baked mice" are a classic Viennese dessert. The yeast dough is deep-fried in hot fat and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Baked mice are a hearty dessert. They are popular at any carnival party and can be served as finger food. But they also fit as a sweet main course, combined with a soup as an appetizer. This fat-baked yeast pastry is easy to prepare. It is served warm.
